Day 4: Little Egg Harbor, NJ to New York City (77 miles) On our last ride day we will be cutting through the State of NJ along forested areas and picturesque farmland. The day’s destination is Atlantic Highlands, NJ, from where we will board the ferry to Manhattan. Off the ferry, we will take a short loop around Battery Park and celebrate our arrival at the Miles of Trees Finish Line Party. How much does it cost?Participation in this ride is subject to a minimum $500 fund raising requirement. You will receive a personalized donation page with which to meet and exceed your goal. This ensures we cover ride expenses while still having funds for tree plantings. What’s included?The minimum of $500 provides you with everything you need for the four days of riding. It includes 3 nights of camping, food, drink, emergency and medical support, as well as a Miles of Trees cycling jersey and ferry rides. Note: Travel to/from the start/end destinations is not included, nor is accommodation there. What to bring?Skin protection,sunglasses, swim wear, personal hygiene / medical supplies, cash / credit card for any purchases along the route, sleeping bag, pillows, blankets and a tent, if you have one. Anything else I should know? CDi/Miles of Trees will do everything to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience. However, you will be riding at your own risk and CDi/Miles of Trees will not be liable in the event of personal injury or physical damage to equipment and property. Wearing a helmet and not wearing headphones while riding is mandatory. So is courteous and responsible riding. For more information or to register, please visit our website www.cd-international.org or email us at info@cd-international.org The 2013 Miles of Trees Flagship Ride Four days, 360 miles, one good time and a lot of trees Virginia Beach to New York City Columbus Day Weekend Day 1: Virginia Beach to Chincoteague, VA (100 miles)Starting with a healthy breakfast and a small departure ceremony from CDi’s educational organic farm, we will loop around Virginia Beach before being taken across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel. From the other side, it is flat rolling along Virginia’s Eastern shore to arrive at our destination where the beaches are home to wild horses. Day 2: Chincoteague, VA to Bethany Beach, MD (84 miles) By-passing Assateague Island and State Park, we turn inland before crossing into the State of Maryland.The ride will take us through some rolling hills and farmland as we approach the beaches and boardwalks of Ocean City, MD. From there it is only a few more miles to our camp. Note the word beach… pack a bathing suit. Day 3: Bethany Beach, MD to Little Egg Harbor, NJ (95 miles) Following the shore line along Indian River and Rehoboth Bays, we arrive in Lewes for the one-hour ferry ride to Cape May, NJ, crossing the mighty Delaware Bay. From Cape May, the route first takes us along the resort town’s beach front, then turns inland through state forests and farmland.
