Why Reach Out to Sophomores? • Nearly 70% indicate they plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university. • Over 60% have e-mail addresses • ACT research shows that students who take PLAN have higher postsecondary aspirations than students who don't take PLAN. • Students who take the PLAN are more likely to go to college than students who just take the ACT. • You have a better chance of influencing their college choice set. • You have a better chance of influencing their curricular choices in the last 2 years of high school. • Sophomores want college information and often need college information.

  9. How can PLAN/EOS can help build your incoming classes? • Select PLAN-tested students using factors like: • PLAN Scores (1-32) • Race/Ethnicity • Geographic Region (entire U.S., states, counties, zip codes, EIS segments) • Religious Affiliation • Gender • Career Areas • Educational Plans

If your goals include: • Building relationships with students early in the college selection process • Increasing awareness of your university • Building your inquiry pool • Target special populations • Help FG/SOC understand the application process, the importance of visiting campus, academic and financial resources available to them, etc. • Communicating the academic qualities/course work you expect students to have as applicants • Providing encouragement for staying on track and taking a challenging curriculum in high school • Fulfilling part of your mission to serve underrepresented populations • Being a source of information to students who are of the highest need
