  2. THE 2300 YEAR PROPHECY

THE SANCTUARY TO BE CLEANSED • 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain [saint] which spake, How long [shall be] the vision [concerning] the daily [sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? • 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days;then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

  4. How Long The Vision? • The vision begins with the rule of the Media-Persian Empire 539 to 331 B.C. • Prophetic time as three world Empires are involved. • Media-Persia 208 • Greece 163 • Rome Pagan 644 • Rome Papal 1290 • 2305 Total years

The Key That Unlocks The Prophecy • Numbers 14:34“After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, [even] forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, [even] forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. • Ezekiel 4:6“And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. • Scripture confirms how long the prophecy

  6. Another way to look at the time element • Daniel 8:14 • There are 2300 days. Only days considered are cleansing days. 2300 cleansing days would be 2300 Atonement days which would be 2300 actual years

  8. Three Vital Points in the Vision • The beginning point 457 B.C. • The 490 years = The Messiah • The 490 years determined \ Jews cut off and the city cut off also • The 2300 years =Cleansing the Sanctuary Sanctuary

The Beginning and the Middle Mentioned First • Verse 24 “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

  10. 70 Weeks Determined • Determined - Means to cut off - Done • To cut off Thy people \ Nation- Done • To cut off Thy holy city - Done • To make an end of sins (Offerings) Done • Bring in everlasting righteousness Done • Seal up the vision with Christ Done • Anoint Most Holy (Heavenly Place) Done

AN AWESOME PROPHECY!!!! • The Jews are to be cut off after 490 years • The city is to be destroyed at that time • The Temple is to be razzed to the ground • Make an end of sins offerings • To make reconciliation for iniquity • To bring in everlasting righteousness • To seal up the vision… confirm … ratifying • To anoint the Most Holy Place • ALL THIS TAKES PLACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROPHECY • Brought to light with the 490 year portion

  12. The Beginning Date To Confirm The Prophecy • Verse 25 “Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

  13. The Time ElementDetermined Upon Thy People • 70 Weeks X 7 = 490 years • 457 • 33 • Jews cut off – No longer the chosen people. 34 A.D. stoning of Stephen was the cut off event = gospel leaves Israel and goes to the gentiles

  14. EZRA 6:3, -11,12- 14,15 • 6:3 In the first year of Cyrus the king [the same]Cyrusthe king made a decree [concerning] the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid;

  15. Ezra 6:11,12 • Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this. • 6:12 And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter [and] to destroy this house of God which [is] at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

  16. Ezra 6:14,15 • And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished [it], according to • the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. • 6:15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

  17. The Command From God • Isa. 44:28 That saith of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid. Daniel showed this prophecy to Cyrus that was written 150 years before he was born.

  18. The Commandment To Restore • and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. Ezra • The third and final command was in the fall of 457

  20. The Fall of 457 B.C.The Beginning of the 2300 Year Prophecy • Ezra 6:13,14 The final commandment of Artaxerxes was in the fall of 457 B.C. • This part of the prophecy is 490 years. Verse 24. • The 490 • - 457 • 33 A.D.

  23. Simple Arithmetic • 483 unto the Messiah = Anointed One • Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit at His baptism • 483 • 457 • 26

  24. Unto the Messiah • Verse 25 • Seven Weeks + Threescore +2 = 69 weeks • Unto the Messiah = the Anointed One • Jesus was anointed by the Spirit at his baptism. • This was the beginning of the ministry of Jesus • Jesus started his ministry when he was 30 • 69 weeks = 483 complete years - fall of the year 27 • The ministry of Jesus was 3 1\2 years • Jesus died in the spring at Passover \Easter • Remember there were 70 weeks in the prophecy • 69 of them bring you to the Messiah

  25. Daniel 9:27 • “ And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.” • In the midst of the week or half of the week is 3 1\2 years, Jesus dies.

  26. THE MIDST OF THE 70th WEEK 27 A.D. 34 A.D. 3 1\2 YEARS 3 1\2 YEARS

  27. The Confirmation of the time of the Cleansing of the Sanctuary • The time of the ministry and the death of Jesus confirms the vision • The vision was for 2300 years • 490 years to Messiah • 1810 more years to The Cleansing of the Sanctuary • 34 + 1810 = 1844

  28. Summation • The 2300 Year Prophecy • 490 34 A.D. Determined on the Jews • 483 27 A.D. Unto the Messiah • 7 years 1 week midst of – 3 1\2 – Messiah cut off - sacrifice cease • Verse 26 Messiah cut off – not for himself!!!! • destroy the city • destroy the sanctuary

The CleansingThe Day of Atonement • Lev. 16:29 – 30 “And [this] shall be a statute for ever unto you: [that] in the seventh month, on the tenth [day] of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all… • 16:30 For on that day shall [the priest] make an atonement for you,to cleanse you, [that] ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. • The Jewish calendar – first month – Passover - March (See Lev. 23:5) • Seven months later – Oct. 22, 1844

  33. Daniel 8:16,17 • And I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this [man] to understand the vision. • 8:17… but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end [shall be] the vision. • We are living in the time of the end!!!

  34. VITAL POINTS TO REMEMBER • 1. Only sins considered are Christians • 2. Christian’s sins are covered by blood • 3. The house of God is judged first – before Jesus comes. (1 Peter 4:17 + Rev. 22:11,12) • 4. Judgment of all others is during the Millennium – already lost. (Rev. 20:4) • 5. We are living in the time of the Judgment • 6. On a day just like today, Jesus comes out of the heavenly sanctuary. • 6. On a day like today, unannounced, our judgment will close and the seal applied.

  35. Most Vital Point • Heb. 4:14 - 16 “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. • 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. • 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” • Come boldly to the throne of grace where Jesus is our Great High Priest.

  36. Our Great High Priest • Seeing that Jesus is our Great High Priest in the heavenly Temple, there is no need for any other priestly system. • No one else has the keys. Jesus is in charge • No one else has the forgiving power as only Jesus can read the mind and heart. • Jesus officiates in the Temple above, the heavenly Temple, at the throne of grace, before the Father.

  37. Sanctuary \ Cleansing • In 1844 the only Temple was the heavenly and its cleansing time reveals that only Jesus can officiate in that Temple. • The Devil has a counterfeit priesthood and a high priest here on earth.

  38. Hebrews 8:1,2 • 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; • 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of thetrue tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. (The Church in heaven!!!) • The true tabernacle indicates there is a false tabernacle. • This tells us that the antichrist system has to be a church with a priesthood right here in Christianity.

  39. Conclusion • This is what the Church in heaven reveals to us. • 1. There is only one High Priest, in heaven • 2. There is only one True Temple, in heaven • 3. Our High Priest forgives and takes away our sins • 4.

  40. Hebrews • 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. • Jesus decides who is to be saved • You come unto the Father through the Son • Jesus makes intercession – means not through saints, priests or Mariology – Jesus only

  41. The more we study the prophecies the clearer becomes the plan of salvation
