  2. Context: false teachers saw godliness as means to financial gain.

  3. Contentment is being satisfied with what you have.

  4. The very first sin was the sin of discontent.

  5. The opposite of contentment is covetousness.

  6. Covetousness breaks the 1st and last commandment and is idolatry.

  7. Ultimately, contentment is being satisfied with Christ alone.

  8. Paul and Asaph had to “learn to be content,” so do we!

  9. Why we will be disappointed if we don’t have contentment:

  10. 1. You can’t take it with you.

  11. 2. You won’t be satisfied with it.
