Job Overview • Prepare and cook complete meals, banquets or specialty foods, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays. Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food, supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, plan menus and demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff. Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions

  3. Why you are interested in this career • I like to cook because I like to eat that is all.

  4. Education Pathway • Culinary Arts will cost $1,000 – $10,000 cost is an annual amount - not by semester this will cover all your tools (knifes, uniform, equipment)

  5. Salary/Future Outlook • Bad, The number of job seekers will likely exceed the number of job openings. • Depending on where you work the average amount to make is $50,000-$70,00

Working Conditions • Work activities involve handling loads of 5 kg but less than10 kg, working near or at equipment, instruments, machinery or power/hand tools that may be a potential source of accident or injury, Exposure to fire (rather than exposure to flammable substances that may ignite), to emissions of steam or to intensely hot surfaces that are potential sources of injury. Work that will involve talking to people as a regular part of the job in a normal controlled environment such as an office, hospital or school.
