  3. Communication & Media Management In technologically developed societies, communication in its many forms has become a major industry. Computerisation, electronic information, satellites and other information delivery systems have transformed national and cultural boundaries, leading to an increasingly globalise culture. This has lead to a growing demand for people with knowledge of human aspects of communication and different media, who are competent in analysis, and who have skills in the use of communications technologies.

Program Structure • Provides opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in organisational communication and media management Including: • Public and Mass Communication • Writing and Document development • Web based and Digital formats for communication • Broadcast media • Communication in Organisations

Program Structure Structure of MBAR Professional Major (7 course) Public Relations Issues in Publication & Design Reporting for the Media Introduction to Digital Media Advertising: Images, Industry and Audience Creative & Feature Writing for the Media Communication & Organisation (capstone course) Sub-Major (6 courses) + Minor ( 4 courses) suggestions: Professional Writing Multimedia Studies Film & Television International Studies Foundation Courses (4 courses) focussing on the media from Australian and International perspectives Indigenous Course (1 course) Free choice elective (1 course) or Industry Internship Program Structure

Program Structure Enrolment Options Offered Full time or Part time – Internal mode – lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshop; some online content Contact hours vary according to individual program structure. A normal full time study load could include four lectures per week and eight tutorials plus time for required reading, to do research and undertake group work assignments.
