  2. Smart Security Alert System • Developing smart house security system to detect intrusion or fire and taking appropriate actions like calling emergency, and/or home owner using voice/video call. • Giving user the ability to monitor the house from any remote location through Internet.

  3. Smart User Interface • When user is inside the house: • Speech controlled user interface to run various smart house applications including controlling appliances and making video and voice calls. • Option to override speech controlled interface using regular remote control. • Example: Calling “Adam” with touch of a button or saying “Call Adam”. • When user is outside the house: • Giving user the ability to control appliances from any remote location.

  4. Middle layer for other applications • Other developers should be able to use this system to get messages for their applications through voice to text commands.

  5. Resources required • Hardware: • ATLAS nodes • Pressure sensor, Temperature sensor, Motion detection Sensor, Digital contact Senor, Flame detection Sensor. • Remote Control and Infrared Receiver • A Modem to make voice call. • Software: • Java • Microsoft SAPI and TAPI • .NET
