  3. What is SKYLITE ? • SKYLITE allows your PC to access the POISE Student Information System (Database). • The POISE software resides on an Alpha server which is connected to the network. • The TJC Network allows your PC to access the server using SKYLITE which causes your PC to function as a terminal connected directly to the Alpha server.

  4. Double Click on SKYLITE Icon

  5. Key in your username, press return. If you do not know your username please contact the Help Desk at 2413 for assistance.

  6. Key in your password, press return. NOTE: Forgotten your password? Call the TJC Help Desk. When you sign on the first time or if your password has been re-set you will be prompted for a new password which you will key in a second time for verification. Passwords do expire every 90 days. Helpful Hint: Some users change POISE password when Network password expires and use the same password for both.

  7. Timed-Out If you take too long entering your username and password then the network will automatically disconnect. You may click Retry to enter your username and password again.

  8. TJCCREDITSYSTEM If you get the following screen, Press return.

  9. TJC CONTINUING EDUCATION SYSTEM If you get the following screen, Press return.

  10. Main Menu SPECIAL NOTE: There are many different menus in use. The following may or may not be your menu, however, setting the SKYLITE configuration is the same for all users regardless of the menu in use.

  11. To Set Previous Screen Key Click on Configure (on tool bar)

  12. Click on Keyboard Mapping

  13. Click on END key

  14. Choose Prev from Emulation Keys. You may have to scroll through the Emulation Key listing to find Prev.

  15. Click on BIND

  16. Click on OK

  17. To Set Colors in SKYLITE NOTE: Colors are your choice, the followingcolors were used inthe training sessions.

  18. Click on Configure (on tool bar)

  19. Click on Attributes

  20. Choosing Colors To Set Click to Highlight NORMAL (if not already highlighted).

  21. Choose Letter Coloring Click on the Foregroundcolor for the lettering. (Dark Blue in this example)

  22. Choose a Background Color Click on a Backgroundcolor for the background. (White in this example).

  23. Click BOLD and select the same colors.

  24. Click FLASH and select the same colors

  25. Click BOLD FLASH and select same colors.

  26. Click REVERSE and select White for Foreground and Blue for Background

  27. Click BOLD REVERSE and select White Foreground and Blue Background

  28. Click FLASH REVERSE andselect White Foreground and Blue Background

  29. Click BOLD FLASH REVERSE and select White Foreground and Blue Background

  30. Click BLANK and select Blue Foreground and White Background

  31. Click BOLD BLANK and select Blue Foreground and White Background

  32. Click FLASH BLANK and select White Foreground and Blue Background

  33. Click BOLD FLASH BLANK and select Black Foreground and Blue Background

  34. Set all the following the same as BOLD FLASH BLANK • REVERSE BLANK • BOLD REVERSE BLANK • FLASH REVERSE BLANK • BOLD FLASH REVERSE BLANK

  35. Click UNDERLINE and select Blue Foreground and White Background

  36. Set all the following the same as the UNDERLINE colors • BOLD UNDERLINE • FLASH UNDERLINE • BOLD FLASH UNDERLINE • REVERSE UNDERLINE • BOLD REVERSE UNDERLINE • FLASH REVERSE UNDERLINE • BOLD FLASH REVERSE UNDERLINE • BLANK UNDERLINE

  37. Set all the following the same as the UNDERLINE colors • BOLD BLANK UNDERLINE • FLASH BLANK UNDERLINE • BOLD FLASH BLANK UNDERLINE • REVERSE BLANK UNDERLINE • BOLD REVERSE BLANK UNDERLINE • FLASH REVERSE BLANK UNDERLINE • BOLD REVERSE FLASH BLANK UNDERLINE

  38. Click OK

  39. To Set Scroll Back Capability Click on Configure (on tool bar)

  40. Click EDITING

  41. Set the Number of Pages to 10 Click box “Vertical scrollbar navigates backpages”

  42. CAUTION ! • The higher the number of back pages the more memory needed and your response time will suffer.

  43. Click OK

  44. When exiting and the following box appears:1) Click YES if you want to Save Changes 2) Click NO to Keep Original Settings
