MIAMI, FL - Every so often, the apparently unstoppable upward flight in the price of gold will undergo a correction and drop sharply downwards - temporarily. When this happens it should be greeted not with dismay but with glee as the new price presents an excellent buying opportunity. At the new, low price there is plenty of room to make a profit when, as inevitably happens, the price starts to rise again. The one concern would be how long to wait; could the price drop even further? Well, of course, it could, even experienced market analysts will have varying opinions on this one; however, there are few factors at present to suggest a significantly lower pullback; in fact there are many macroeconomic factors that still offer strong support to gold. The Indian wedding season is upon us, which usually results in an increased demand for gold bullion of around 10%; debt issues continue to be a concern in Europe; there is civil unrest in Libya and US growth figures are disappointing. Safe haven demand therefore remains strong. "Those investors who may have thought twice about buying gold at the record-breaking high prices on offer earlier this week would be well advised to make purchases in this dip," says Bill Hionas. "Many savvy investors have been waiting for this correction before purchasing. Safe haven demand is still significant and the trend remains bullish."
