OCKT Goals and Objectives • Promote strategic approach to communicating information to internal and external customers • Develop and manage programs for disseminating and implementing the results of Agency research and related products, tools, and resources • Help AHRQ achieve its mission by supporting AHRQ and priority areas of focus, which include: • Improving health care quality by accelerating the implementation of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR); • Making health care safer; • Increasing accessibility by evaluating health insurance coverage expansions; and • Improving health care affordability, efficiency, and transparency.

  4. Purpose of KT IDIQ Contract • Continue to facilitate and accelerate dissemination and implementation of AHRQ’s evidence-based research, products, and tools • Focus on two-way information exchange between AHRQ and target audiences • Projects to reflect AHRQ priorities

  5. Structure of KT IDIQ Contract • Small business set-aside • 6 contractors selected • AFYA, Inc. • Atlas Research • Crosby Marketing Communications • Hayes, Inc. • PRIME Education, Inc. • Reingold • $150,000,000 ceiling over 5 years (2012-2017)

Research and Planning • Formative Research • Literature reviews; environmental scans; Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analyses; media usage and content analyses; audience analyses • Strategic KT planning • Based on formative research • Who the audience is; how we will reach them; what tools they need; how tools will be developed and implemented

  8. Tools and Materials Development • Creative or scientific writing • Accredited continuing education • Language translations or adaptations • Educational or training materials • Training sessions/ workshops • Web sites, products, tools, and apps • Exhibits or sessions at meetings

Current Projects Underway • Educating the Educators: Developing PCOR Tools for the People Who Educate Consumers, Patients, and Caregivers • Integrating PCOR into Clinical Decision Support Systems • Implementing AHRQ Tools for Nurses to Improve Quality of Care • TeamSTEPPS Online • Continuation of CE/CME Modules (maintaining certification and accreditation of some existing modules) • Continuing Education of Comparative Effectiveness Research (creation of new modules with certification and accreditation)
