  2. Ivan the Great He is most responsible for the initial unification of Russia’s regions and the Eastern European influences. He married the niece of the last Byzantium emperor, and employed various architects of Eastern Europe to glorify his cities in the style of Europe. He mostly used their concepts of social structures and general ways of life.

  3. Eastern Orthodox Church Eastern Orthodox Initially branched off from the Roman church, eventually becoming a separate religion. This is one of the major factors that brought the unification of the Russian states. The religious beliefs are still evident and strong in the present Federating of Russia.

  4. Peter the great Was responsible for the most reformations of the Russian states under heavy influences of Western Europe. Strengthened the military and government. Held major trading routes, and eventually founded the Capital of St. Petersburg. His influence would lead future Tsars to strengthen the unification of the people under one leader. He mostly adopted political concepts and ordered westernization in the city looks and structures.

  5. How is this reflected today? Current president, Vladimir Putin is leading the majority of the Russian reformations that are designated to improve Russia’s economy, military, government, and foreign relations since the fall of the Soviet Union. He heavily relies on European influence to better the life of his own people through local means, and takes ideas from the US government to strengthen the political standpoint of the nation in the world.
