  4. What does the fraction exponent do to the number? How would we simplify this expression?

  5. You have two choices, you can take the square root of 16 and then put the answer to the 5th power, OR vice-versa. You tell me which would be easier? How would we simplify this expression?

  7. Now, should be try to get the fourth root of 81 or put 81 to third power? How would we simplify this expression? Lets rewrite into radical form.

  9. What will always happen to a base number when the fractional exponent is less than? What about one that is higher than 1? THINKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Anything to the first power is the base number, so if the fractional exponent is less than 1, the base will get smaller, while the base will get bigger if the fractional exponent is larger than 1. ANSWER!

  11. Now, should be try to get the fifth root of 243 or put 243 to second power? How would we simplify this expression? Lets rewrite into radical form.
