So, it can be helpful to login as your child.

  7. Focus • This is our district’s grading platform. • You can see your child’s grades, and attendance, on Focus. • It is recommended that parents and guardians use Focus to email teachers. Focus automatically fills in the email address thus eliminating typographical errors.

  8. Pearson Realize • Pearson Realize is the primary platform for Math 1 Advanced and Math 2 Advanced. • For Math 1 Advanced and Math 2 Advanced, the online lessons are the book. • Note that “digits” is simply a series of books that is on Pearson Realize. The “digits” series of books cover middle school math. • BASIC NAVIGATION • The online lessons can be found by clicking on “PROGRAMS” at the top. • Assignments (including homework!) can be found by clicking on “CLASSES” at the top. • Clicking on “DATA” will show different ways of looking at and analyzing student grades.

  9. Pearson Realize • HOMEWORK TIPS • The online homework has help features built into it. Just look for the “Question Help” button that will be towards the top, right. • Use the help features to truly learn, not to half-guess your way to the answer! • If a student is having trouble understanding the homework, they should review the online lesson for it. • Nearly every Pearson Realize homework assignment can be completed up to 3 times (students should get 100% on them).

  10. Pearson Realize • REVIEW • Every problem that your child completes on Pearson Realize is saved. Every problem, the correct answer to it, and your child’s answer. • This is true for both homework assignments and tests (some teachers do tests on Pearson Realize). • When looking at a problem that your child got wrong, the correct answer will be shown first. Click on the correct answer and your child’s answer will be shown in a popup bubble.

  11. i-Ready • The i-Ready platform is a secondary platform that can be used for remediation (lessons that are behind grade level), reinforcement (lessons that are on grade level), or enrichment (lessons that are ahead of grade level). • The i-Ready platform has lessons that cover math from the kindergarten level to about half-way through algebra 1. • The i-Ready diagnostic test is capable of testing all levels of math from kindergarten through grade 12. • The i-Ready diagnostic test assigns lessons to students based on their individual test results. • Students take the i-Ready diagnostic test three times during the school year (August, January, and May).

  12. i-Ready • The green-button lessons are lessons automatically assigned by the i-Ready diagnostic test. If a student has not taken the i-Ready diagnostic test yet, this button will not appear. If a student reaches the end of the i-Ready lessons (it has happened), this button will not appear. • The blue-button lessons are lessons assigned by your child’s teacher. If the teacher hasn’t assigned any lessons themselves, this button will not appear. If a student has completed all of the lessons assigned by their teacher, this button will not appear. • You can review all of the lessons completed by a student. This is actually recorded in their i-Ready account.
