  2. You would know that folders and files get stored on one of the hard disks of your laptop or desktop, making them readily accessible according to your requirements. A web page is also a file, quite similar to word processing documents. Just like we need a computer for the storage of documents, we also need a computer for the storage of web pages.

  3. The main difference in the two is the fact that usually web pages are meant to be viewed by the general public. This is possible by having a computer which has much better specifications than a normal PC, and which is connected to the Internet via an extremely powerful link. The computer which stores web pages is known as a web server, since it serves pages to the users of Internet when getting a command from them. A website is constituted by a collection of such pages, and various web pages from all over the world lead to the formation of the World Wide Web (WWW).

So, when you like to operate a website, you require web hosting. Otherwise, you'll need to invest a lot of funds for having your own server and making all the necessary connections.
