The Impact of Community Data on Fundraising in Toronto's Schools

This report by Beth Wilson, Senior Researcher at Social Planning Toronto, highlights the disparity in fundraising efforts between the least marginalized and most marginalized primary schools over three years. The top 20 schools raised an average of $249,362.51 each, while the bottom 20 schools only managed $6,922.98 per school. It stresses the need for advocacy to support community groups to strengthen funding and resources. The findings emphasize the importance of equitable financial support in education to address systemic inequalities.
