  3. pen*ta*cle (n.) • My teacher drew a pentacle next to a sentence in my narrative and wrote, “Great imagery!” next to it.

  4. pen*ta*gon (n.) • If you look closely, a pentagon looks just like the outline of a cartoon house.

  5. Pen*ta*gon (n.) • The Pentagon in Washington D.C. is home to the Department of Defense. It was also the target of terrorists on September 11, 2001.

  6. pen*tath*lon (n.) • The pentathlon in which David competed included five events: running, swimming, bicycling, hurdling, and long jumping.

  7. quin*tet (n.) • The musical quintet sang in the church on Sunday.

  8. quin*tu*plet (n.) • The lion quintuplets frolicked in the zoo.

  9. quin*tes*sen*tial (adj.) • Mr. Saadat has the quintessential middle school math classroom. There are always student examples posted, along with his own posters, to help students remember concepts.
