  1. Tag Drills - Basic Attack/Defence 2:2 vs 2 Marlow RFC Under 7s

  2. Set Up • 2v2 • Single grid 10m x 7m • 2 defenders required in grid • Remaining players form attackers • Players will attack in pairs • All attackers require TAGs • Attackers line up at one end of grid Marlow RFC Under 7s

  3. Set Up 2 Attackers Defenders (move sideways only) Marlow RFC Under 7s

  4. First pair of attackers run towards try line Set Up 2 Attackers GO! Marlow RFC Under 7s

  5. Set Up 2 Attackers Defender moves to take first TAG Marlow RFC Under 7s

  6. Set Up 2 Attackers Attacker passes to team mate Marlow RFC Under 7s

  7. Set Up 2 Attackers First attacker reattaches TAG and rejoins team mate Repeat at second defender then score TRY Marlow RFC Under 7s

Tag Drills 1-Basic Attack/Defence • Attack Skills • Use speed and direction to pass single defender • Run towards space • Carry ball in 2 hands (watch for attacker pushing defender away with the ball – this is illegal) • Defender Aims • Make yourself big • Take as much ground from the attacker as possible, move up the pitch • Drive attacker to wing (extra ‘defenders’) • Take TAG Marlow RFC Under 7s

  9. Tips • Attacker can keep running if not tagged • It is vital that the second attacker stays behind the first • Start #2 on one knee? • Ensure the non-ball carrier can always see the ball carriers back (T-Shirt logo, shirt number etc etc) Marlow RFC Under 7s
