Introduction • Can you turn on television or read a newspaper without seeing our dependency on foreign oil? • Can you drive from point A to point B and not worry about where you need to stop for fuel next and how much it will cost? • Can you afford to take a family vacation or even a trip to the grocery store without worrying what kind of effect it will have on your budget? • With the price of oil who can accurately predict what the future holds in store for us. • For example Summer of 2008, gasoline prices well over $4.00 a gallon. • Today $2.60 a gallon
Nanovations Mission • Nanovation’s mission is to expand our capabilities to mass produce CNT batteries for the automotive industry. We want to generate interest from various government, corporate, and private investors to raise awareness of the importance of furthering CNT battery development and mass production capabilities.
Electric Past • EV1 • General Motors first real production car trying to capture the battery market. • FAILURE. • First Generation Batteries range was only 50 miles. (lead-acid) • Second Generation Batteries was double the first, but still impractical. (Nickle-Metal Hydride) • Batteries alone cost $20,000 to $30,000. of the $33,999 price tag
Electric Past • EV1 cont… • Long recharge times (approx 8 hrs) • Only sold in CA and AZ • Could not purchase the car, had to lease • Could not repair the car because it took a skilled technician to work on it since they are working with live voltage
Electric Past • Nanovation will be able to overcome the problems seen with the production of GM’s EV1. Our batteries are much lighter, smaller, and provide a larger range than either of the two types of batteries used in the EV1. Furthermore, the recharge time of a Nanovation CNT battery can be done in approximately 90 seconds. That is less time than it takes to fill a car with gasoline.
Our Team at Nanovation • MohamadZeineldeenand George Shereda - co-lead engineers of development. • Technical Presentation • Marlin Stewart and Alfredo Gutierrez - break down the technical information into easily understood fragments (i.e. finer points) • Nicholas Berkholz – CEO of Nanovation
Conclusion • I hope by the end of today, we at Nanovation have opened your eyes to the incredible potential of Carbon Nanotube batteries.
