Roles and responsibilities of the competent authorities/Customs authorities • International guarantee system: • A certified copy of the written agreement or any other legal document between the competent authorities and the national association(s) as well as any modifications thereto • A certified copy of the insurance or financial guarantee contract as well as any modifications thereto • A copy of the (annually to be renewed) insurance certificate Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006

Roles and responsibilities of the competent authorities/Customs authorities • Controlled access to the TIR procedure: • The particulars of each person authorized by the competent authorities to use TIR Carnets of whose authorization has been withdrawn • A complete and updated list of all persons authorized by the competent authorities to use TIR Carnets or whose authorization has been withdrawn • The particulars of each person excluded from the operation of the Convention in accordance with Article 38 Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006

Roles and responsibilities of the TIR Executive Board (TIRExB) Mandate • Subsidiary body of TIR Administrative Committee • Fulfils the tasks entrusted to it by the Convention (Annex 8) and by the Committee based on its Terms of Reference • Composed of 9 members (experts) elected by the Administrative Committee • Members have 2 years terms of office • Meets as often as required (also by correspondence) • Prioritizes its work Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006

Roles and responsibilities of the TIR Executive Board (TIRExB) Activities • Supervises the application of the Convention world-wide • Supervises the operation of the international TIR guarantee system • Supervises the printing and distribution of TIR Carnets • Coordinates exchange of intelligence among Contracting States Regional TIR Seminar Sofia, 11-12 May 2006
