Red Ribbon Week Red Ribbon Week commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffikers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle by participating in…… Red Ribbon Week October 21-25

  5. Red Ribbon KLMS Spirit Days Monday– “Be TRUSTWORTHY “ Friends help friends STAY drug free. Match your friends and dress alike. Tuesday– “Kelly Lane Spirit” – support all of our teams at Kelly Lane by wearing your favorite Kelly Lane shirt Wednesday– “Sock it to Drugs!”-Find your most outrageous pair of socks and wear them on this day. Thursday– “College NOT Drugs!” Wear your favorite college t-shirt to show you are committed to choosing education . Friday– “Support Cancer Research” Wear pink to show your support for cancer awareness

  6. Monday!!! Be TRUSTWORTHY Friends Help Friends STAY Drug Free Match your friends and dress alike.

  7. Tuesday- • Kelly Lane Spirit Day! Wear Kelly Lane colors to let people know your have pride for KLMS! Support our football and volleyball teams! Education is a way to stay drug free!

  8. Wednesday!!! • Sock it to Drugs! Find your most outrageous pair of socks and wear them on this day. • Smoking can kill you. Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. More than 440,000 Americans die from tobacco-related causes each year, most of whom began using tobacco before the age of 18

  9. Thursday!!! College NOT Drugs! Wear your favorite college t-shirt to show you have a bright future without alcohol and drugs • 40 % of kids who started drinking at age 13 or less become addicted to alcohol at one point in their life.

  10. Friday!!! Friday is wear pink for cancer awareness!! October is almost over, but sun protection is not just a summer responsibility.

  14. Pre-AP Ambassadors • If you know the importance of Pre-AP classes and • If you are interested in becoming a Kelly Lane Pre-AP Ambassador see Mrs. Siller-Luis in room 316. • Applications are due Friday, November 1st & you can pick them up in the front office or outside 316.

  15. UIL We will meet every Wed. immediately after school until 4:15 beginning October 23rd. If you are interested in participating in UIL for maps, charts, and graphs or social studies, see Ms. Montez in room 102.

  16. UIL Academic Teams Forming Now!! Wanted: Science geniuses in 6th, 7th and 8th grade!! If you are interested stop by room 320 and see Ms. Kite!! Practice Days will be every other Thursday.

  18. It’s not too late to join the team. The team is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. See Mrs. Ryan, room 319, for information. • After school practice schedule is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday’s. You need to come to at least one practice a week. More will be required as we get closer to competition. • First competition – December 14th.
