  1. Ashley Lambert My Favorite Spanish Art

  2. Title: Terremoto en Popayan • Artist: Fernando Botero • Date of Composition: 1999 • Artistic Era: Postmodernism and Deconstructivism

  3. I chose Terremoto en Popayan because the message it is trying to send, is well received by whoever sees the painting. You can tell much destruction is going on in a city. The destruction most likely being caused by an earthquake. Also the sky in the background is a dark blue, almost blackish color. This gives you the feeling of sadness and fright; which is what the people who are experiencing the situation in the painting would be feeling. In conclusion, I really love how the painting captures and portrays the emotions so well.

  4. Title: View of Toledo • Artist: El Greco • Date of Composition:1597 • Artistic Era: Baroque • Other: This painting is one of the two only surviving paintings by El Greco.

  5. View of Toledo by El Greco sends the message of hope to me. In the picture it looks like there may have been a bad storm. You can tell because the sky is very dark and cloudy. In addition, you can also see bits of the sky starting to clear up and get brighter. It is saying that even in the darkest times never give up because things will get better.

  6. Title: Garden of Montmartre • Artist: Santiago Rusiñol • Date of Composition:1890-1891 • Artistic Era: Post-Impressionism

  7. Garden on Montmatregives me the feeling of calmness. In the painting everything looks at ease and nothing is wrong. It gives you the sensation that sometimes everything can be at peace, even if only for a few minutes.
