  6. Design for the Environment Label • Design for the Environment-labeled products use only the safest ingredients and meet strict EPA criteria. For consumers, the label: >> identifies the product as green >> enables quick selection

  7. Demand for Safer (Green) Products say “the government should set higher standards for environmental labels on products” [Green Gauge Survey of Consumers, 2009] 22% Bought Safer/Green [Deloitte Green Shopper Survey, 2009] 65%

Growth to Date • 2,500+safer products / 500+manufacturers / reduces 700+million pounds chemicals of concern per year • ≈ 1,700 of products are industrial and institutional • 800+consumer products and growing rapidly • Range of product categories: • Kitchen and bathroom cleaners, laundry detergents, car and boat care products, industrial coatings, disinfectants, field paint • Potential for expansion to: • Personal care products, lubricants, pesticides, hydraulic fracturing fluids, adhesives and many more
