  3. Why is the description so important? • Create a visual picture • What would you want to know as a buyer – Bidder’s shoes • Maximum Price • Brief and Accurate information - Credibility • Repeat business

  4. For lots of miscellaneous property, begin descriptions with –“One lot consisting of:” Items within a lot shall be separated by a “;” in order to differentiate where the description of one item ends and the next item description begins. Example: One lot consisting of: Typewriters, Swintec, Mdl: 456, 5 each; Fax Machines, Brother, Mdl: 678, 3 each; and Cell Phones, Nokia, Mdl: 6140, 10 each. Where to start?

  5. Standard Condition Codes • 1 Unused/No modification or repairs required • 4 May Require Repairs/Property shows some wear/Additional deficiencies are unknown • 7 Repairs Required/Property is unusable in its current condition/(List all known major deficiencies, parts missing)/Additional deficiencies are unknown • X Salvage/Property has value in excess of its basic material content, |but repair or rehabilitation is impractical and/or uneconomical* • S Scrap/Property has no value except for its basic material content**

  6. Vehicles • Accurate custodian information • Color – very important • Transmission – type and speeds • Any deficiencies in the vehicle • At least 5 pictures – especially if there is body damage • X – Sold for salvage only “Not to be titled for Highway Use” • S – Sold for scrap only “Not to be titled for highway use”

  7. All property should be checked to see if a reference to Special Terms & Conditions statements is required: • Examples: • For medical equipment: Bidders are responsible for complying with the clause entitled “Medical Devices” listed in “Special Terms and Conditions”

  8. Review sale item descriptions • Your SCO will send you an email with information on the sale • READ IT for validation • YOU are the final reviewer of the descriptions
