  1. Progress through Partnership The future for PtP www.progressthroughpartnership.org.uk

  2. What will the partnership world look like if PtP delivers • LSPs are the forum for taking forward the place shaping agenda • LSPs are the forum for developing a vision for an area – articulated in a Community Strategy • The LAA is the document that commits partners to collaborative work to deliver against that vision • Partner strategies are aligned with the SCS and LAA to ensure they complement rather than compete with each other

  3. …so what does PtP do? • PtP helps LSP partners and support staff learn from each other • PtP coordinates learning activities so LSPs don’t have to • PtP helps LSPs help themselves

  4. Where have we got to… PtP originally funded for 12 months… now nearly eight months old. …PtP needs to live on if we are to help achieve our big ambitions Seeking additional funding through SEIEP

  5. …what this session will do • Explain initial proposals outlining what PtP will do over the next 3 years • Question the audience to ensure we are on track …what have we based our proposals on: • Original PtP documentation • Evidence gathered over last eight months

  6. PtP proposal has four components • To Maintain a regional hub • To develop our ‘Themed Learning’ approach • To continue providing drawdown credits – funds for individual LSPs to use for bespoke development • To develop accredited training for partnership support staff

  7. A Regional Hub Benefits: • Coordination of activities • Build links between sub-regions • Benchmark and monitor progress • Acts as a knowledge bank • Provides a regional voice for LSPs • To SEIEP • To GOSE • To CLG and central govt. A Regional Hub Delivered by: • Dedicated resource • Newsletters/Newswires/Regional events • Assessments • Website / Staff • Representation / partnership credibility

  8. Drawdown Credits Benefits: • Funding direct to LSPs • Spent as LSPs see fit • Encourages LSPs to consider their development • Encourages LSPs to take responsibility • Encourages 2-tier collaboration Drawdown Credits Drawbacks • Limited funds – money doesn’t go far • Time consuming to coordinate • Some LSPs have a limited project management resource

  9. Themed learning component • Themed learning – (current and emerging themes) This component also includes: • Practitioner Associates • Work to strengthen regional and sub-regional LSP networks

  10. Themed learning Benefits: • Regional coordination (limited workload on LSPs) • Shared learning • Economies of scale • Peer support Themed learning Drawbacks: • Are LSPs really going to engage?

  11. Accredited Training • A new idea • Makes the assumption that strong officer support is key to making LSPs effective • Would benchmark skills and expertise needed for partnership support • Would develop formal training and qualification for partnership support officers • Aim to develop a post-graduate diploma

  12. Using the feedback • Your responses will influence PtP priorities and how we make use of funding • If you would like to comment outside of this session: • speak to the PtP team member • Comment on feedback forms for event • Use feedback form on our website
