Child Life Specialist-A generally focus on the emotional and development needs of children and families • Use play and other forms of communication to reduced the stress associated with health care experiences • Assess the psychosocial needs of children and families • Provide appropriate Therapeutic relationship and activities • Also know as Play or Activity Therapists
Area of Specialization- Child Life Specialist There is no Specialization in the field of Child Life Specialist.
WORKING ENVIROMENT • Most work in a large hospital setting • Rehabilitation centers • Hospices • Grief Counseling services • Usually, 40 hours day shift job
Length of Training • 4 to 6 years at University Program • Student are award a Bachelor or Master Degree from the university
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION • Certification is based on CLCC-requirement • Completion of a Bachelor degree in anything • 480 hours of child life practices supervised by certified personnel • Recertified every 5 years taking 50 PDH • Every 10 years retake exam
