Ex: 10x²+ 4x– 3x Like Terms – terms with the same variables raised to the same powers. Ex: 10x² + 4x– 3x
CombiningLike Terms • 4x²y + 2x²y + 3xy² • =6x²y + 3xy²
Commutative Property • You can add numbers in any order and you can multiply numbers in any order. • Example of Addition Example of Multiplication • 2 + 7 = 7 + 2 3 x 9 = 9 x 3 • Algebraic rule: Algebraic rule: • a + b = b + a a x b = b x a
