  1. Types of Orthopaedic Surgery Our musculoskeletal system protects all our important organs. The system is also responsible for the physical movement of the human body. When damage occurs to the musculoskeletal system, it causes immense pain and takes a while to recover. We have to approach and consult with an Orthopedic Surgeon to cure any damage to the musculoskeletal system. As explained by the best Orthopaedic surgeon in Delhi, Dr. BirenNadkarni, We shall now look into some of the common types of injuries and the treatment required.

  2. Ankle Fractures • Hip Fractures • Meniscus Tear • Arthritis • Herniated Disks • Back Pain • Ankle Fractures • The most common musculoskeletal injuries are Ankle Fractures. We expose our ankles more while moving from one place to another. If the ankle gets in hard contact with an external substance, it breaks. There are several degrees of breakage which all require immediate attention. An orthopedic surgeon diagnoses the fracture using X-Rays and realigns the ankle with the help of splints or casts.

  3. Hip Fractures Hip Fractures occur due to falls or blows. After diagnosis, the surgeon might insert screws to hold the bones together. The surgeon may have to use metal to partially replace the hip. Prosthesis might be required to replace the complete hip in worst-case scenarios. Meniscus Tear The Meniscus is a soft tissue that connects the thigh bone and shin bone. The tissue is prone to tears, especially in contact sports. An MRI might be required to ascertain the severity of the injury. Surgeons might use Arthroscopy to diagnose the tear. Treatment options include using an Arthroscope to stitch the tear up. Sometimes, the meniscus has to be removed partially or completely. Meniscus tears are of low risk. If the tear is minimal, doctors advise rest for a few days. Dr. BirenNadkarni is one of a very few surgeons popular for Sports Medicine Surgery Delhi based.

  4. Arthritis Arthritis is the most common age-related disease. There are more than one hundred types of Arthritis that affect various parts of the body. Proper diagnosis has to be done to devise an appropriate treatment plan. Doctors usually suggest pain relief medicines and physiotherapy. In some instances, weight loss might be required. For worse conditions, supporting materials can be required. Herniated Disks The spinal cord consists of disks that are rubbery. When the center part of the disk cracks through to the outer part, herniated disks occur. The disks compress the adjoining nerves causing immense pain. Treatment includes painkillers, physical therapy, and rest. Steroid injections are required in some conditions. Diskectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove the herniated disk.

  5. Back Pain Back Pain is one of the most common conditions which need treatment. Apart from medication, rest, and physical therapy, Spinal Fusion is required in severe conditions. A bone from another part of the body or a screw, or metal is used to make the bone into one. If you face any of the above conditions, feel free to consult with Dr. BirenNadkarni, the best orthopedic surgeon in Delhi.
