  2. Dr Gerald M Sacks is an Anesthesiologist in Santa Monica Dr Gerald M Sacks received his medical degree from UMass Chan Medical School. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. He provides pain relief during and after an operation, and treats acute and long-standing pain problems. He is affiliated with Olympia Medical Center and also specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Pain Medicine. He has lectured nationally and internationally on pain management, and has served as an invited speaker at many CME and grand round presentations through the United States.

He Considers Additional Treatment Options for OIC Management Dr Gerald M Sacks shares that although the appropriate balanced nutrition with appropriate vegetables, fruit, and dietary fiber helps prevent OIC [opioid-induced constipation] and other types of constipation, it is equally important to be as active as the patients are permitted to be. If the patients are physically active, it maintains the whole body’s homeostasis, including the bowel movements. He further states that addressing patients with OIC needs to be the part of review system. It is the responsibility of the practitioners to ask the question in a thoughtful manner so you can get appropriate answer from the patient.
