  1. Exporting student names from PASPORT Internet Native Banner (INB) and importing into MicroGrade If you will be using a previous class as a template, open the class and perform the “Save as” process. Select “Option 3” and continue to give the class a new name. Perform the student upload in the new class.

  2. You will require the CRN numbers for all your classes before you begin the process. Step 1. Go to: http://pasport.laredo.edu and login to retrieve information for your class/s.

  3. Step 2. Click on the “Employees”tab Step 3. Click on the “Internet Native Banner”link

  4. Step 4. Click “No” on the Java “Warning - Security” window Step 5. Select the “Always trust content from this publisher” and click “Run” on the “Warning - Security” application’s digital signature window

  5. SWRMCGR Step 6. Type “SWRMCGR” in the “Go to…” field and press enter on the keyboard

  6. Step 7. Type “DATABASE” in the “Printer” field Step 8. Verify that the term code is correct Step 9. Type the “CRN” number of the course you need to export Step 10. Click “Submit” (you may not see a change, continue to the next step)

  7. Step 11. Click “File” and “Save”

  8. Step 12. Click “Options” and “Review Output”

  9. Step 13. Click on the “File Name” drop down menu Output file names will appear Step 14. Click “OK”

  10. Step 15. Click “File” and “Save” Step 16. Click “Yes” to continue

  11. Your class list will open in an internet browser window and must be converted to a text file Step 17. Click “File” and “Save as”

  12. Step 18. Change the “Save in” locationto desktop Step 19. Name the file (include section & semester) and change the “Save as type:” to “Text File” and “Save”

  13. Open MicroGrade Step 20. Click on the “Students” menu, select “Import Students” and then “User Defined”

  14. Step 21. In the “Looking in” box, select desktop/pin drive and browse for your newly created (.txt) file; select “Open”

  15. Step 22. The following screen will appear – click on the first student name and “Continue”

  16. Step 23. Click on the “Import Fields” drop down menu and select each of the fields- “Last Name”, “First Name”, “ID” and “Email1” one at a time and click “Ok” Note: when you select the corresponding “import field”, the name of the field appears next to the student name

  17. Step 24. When prompted to replace ID’s, click “No” Step 25. Click “OK” and “Finished”

  18. DONE !The names appear on your list;do not forget to save.
