School Management And Resource TrainingDirectorate of Primary Education West Thessaloniki Final thought for discussion • Although teacher education is declared by European legislation as a milestone of educational systems • it is yet to be proved whether teachers’ education programmes will work as • an “industry of mediocrity” that churns out unprepared teachers or • “highly accredited training centers” that create compassionate, competent and ethical professionals. • The political question that should be answered first is • what kind of future generation citizens we want?
