  1. Joseph Died in Egypt Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died. (Exodus 1:6)

  2. Israelites Grew & Multiplied but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them. (Exodus 1:7)

  3. A New Pharaoh Reigned Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. (Exodus 1:8)

  4. The Israelites Were Oppressed (Exodus 1:8-22)

  5. I. God Heard Their Groaning 23During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. 24And God heard their groaning. (Exodus 2:23-24)

  6. 2. God Remembered His Covenant 24 and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25 God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them. (Exodus 2:24-25)

  7. God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob – has sent me to you.’ “This is My name forever, the name you shall call Me from generation to generation. (Exodus 3:15)
