Overview University of Regensburg • The University of Regensburg was founded in 1962 as 4th state university in Bavaria • The university comprises 12 faculties and more than 18.000 students • The Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems started operations as one of the first faculties in 1967 • Meanwhile it is one of the biggest faculties of the University of Regensburg with more than 2.000 students • The IRE|BS International Real Estate Business School is part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Information Systems Bildquelle Stadt Regenburg, Peter Ferstl

Johann Vielberth 2004Appointment of 4 fulltime professors 2006 - Real Estate Center leaves the European Business School (5 professors, 40 Ph.D. Students, 25 non-academic staff) - Foundation of the IRE|BS International Real Estate Business School 2008 IRE|BS is one of the largest real estate centers throughout the world (14 professors, 6 visiting professors) At present- IRE|BS is 100 % funded by donations and sponsorships - State of Bavaria will finance 6 professor positions 5 years after appointment Real Estate Education & Research at the University of Regensburg

How can you convince real estate companies to become donors/sponsors? You have to be „present“ in the real estate industry and in the relevant media.  You have to offer „value for money“. 2. Why do real estate companies give money? Primarily they want to recruite the best graduates. 3. How can you make sure that they really pay? Donors sign a contract underwritten by a notary. (amount € … per year for … years)
