  5. What? • Adopt teaching and leadership standards • Refine and adopt research-based rubric for observation and feedback • Train principals/observers in Inter-Rater Reliability • Implement a four level rating system

When? • All 252 Districts are piloting in 2012-2013 • All 252 Districts submitted evaluation design proposals last week • Vetted and reviewed by Chalkboard and ODE next week • Each district will have volunteer teachers pilot new system between now and June • All Oregon Districts required to implement in 2013-2014

  8. ODE Support? • New leadership with Rob Saxton and Heidi Sipe • Posting 252 resources on website for all districts • Providing guidance at regional meetings • Communicating expectations to the field

  9. Challenges? • Time • Change is messy • Notion of “finished product” versus multi-year approach • Waiver discussion in background
