  2. ISSEMYM • ISSEMyM’s affiliate population is 1,041,807 and it is integrated by 349,424 public servants (34%); 35,465 pensioners and retirees (3%) and 656,918 economic dependants (63%). It is the third largest Social Security Institution in the country, after IMSS and ISSSTE. 7,342 public servants work in ISSEMyM. • ISSEMyM provides health services, pensions, death insurance, short, medium and long term loans, it has two child care facilities one community center for the retirees and three hotels. • The health service network is made up of 108 Medic Units spread along 6 regions: 4 of Third Level, 10 of Second Level and 10 mobile medic Units. • The authorized budget for the 2012 exercise has increased to $11,425.1 millions, which is used as follows 39.2% for pensioners payments, 21.7% for personal services, 16.7% for acquisitions of medicines and medical supplies, 8.6% for loans to active public servants and pensioners, among others.

  3. ISSEMYM • ISSEMyM has a mixed pension system, and the individual capitated system is administered by AFORES which is supervised by the CONSAR. The foregoing puts The Mexican State as the first state to establish this scheme which generates a healthy competition among administrators and represents a step forward to portability of rights between institutions. • Only in 2011 over 3,292,000 health visits were granted, 6,454,000 laboratory studies and cabinet. Over 36,000 surgeries were performed, more than 125,000 hospital discharges and over 9,000 births. In this period over 15 million units of medicines were prescribed, which represents expenditures of more than $1,349 millions. With an altruist strategy 189 transplants were performed. • ISSEMyM faces structural financial challenges regarding the pensions system combined with an increase in costs of the health services associated with the demographic and epidemiological transition as well as the increase in the medical costs.
