  3. Objective To contribute to the use of ecosystem service assessments, piloted by the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, in mainstreaming biodiversity conservation and Ecosystem Services (ES) into poverty reduction and sustainable developmentplanning.

MainActivities and Products (Policyenvironment) An ecosystem services strategy developed for selected Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Partnerships built for public-private cooperation for ecosystem management Ecosystem services are considered for integration into socio-economic, political and legal instruments Promotion of equitable and pro-poor economic and financial incentives for sustainingecosystemservices Pilot studies conducted on investment in ecological infrastructure to ensure an accepted minimum and sustainable flow of selected ecosystem services.
