Learn English. Comparative. Comparative. What is comparative ? When we compare two things or two people, we look at what makes them different from each other. Example :. The man on the left is taller than the man on the left The man on the right is shorter than the man on the left.

Comparative • What is comparative ? • When we compare two things or two people, we look at what makes them different from each other. • Example : • The man on the left is taller than the man on the left • The man on the right is shorter than the man on the left • A car is fastest than a bicycle • A bicycle is slower than a car http://rashoova.wordpress.com/

  3. Comparative Adjectives • Comparative adjectives are used to show what quality one thing has more or less than the other. Normally they come before any other adjectives Example : • The blue bag is smaller than the red bag • - The red bag is bigger than the blue bag http://rashoova.wordpress.com/

  5. Exception for the rule • Following adjectives are exception to those rules : • “good” becomes “better” • “bad” becomes “worse” • “far” becomes “farther” or “further” http://rashoova.wordpress.com/

  6. Don’t forget “than” • when comparing two things like this we put “than” between the adjective and the thing being compared • Example : • That mount is higher “than” this mount • Arguably, Rome is beautiful “than” Paris http://rashoova.wordpress.com/
