  11. Resulting High Unemployment • Low and falling GDP growth has contributed to high and increasing unemployment. • Unemployment most severe among the highly productive ---the young. • Unemployment has deepened with the long term employed joining the ranks of unemployed.

  12. A Jobs Strategy • Rooted in stimulating economic growth. • Emphasis on key sectors of Agriculture, Construction, Manufacturing , Tourism and Services. • Drive the export market through robust marketing. • Supporting fiscal and monetary policies • Build supporting infrastructure.

Smart, market driven agriculture • Light manufacturing – juices and root crops for natural food niche markets • Tourism strategically aligned with our nature island resources and targeting high end niche markets • Construction - Housing market to make home ownership more affordable and easily available

  17. Together, we will embark on a comprehensive air and sea access initiative to include the development of an international airport, the modernization of our sea ports, a Dominica based airline and a high speed ferry service.

  18. TOGETHER WE WILL • Improve the quality of governance by eliminating waste and inefficiency in government spending and optimizing public sector investment resources • Make Dominica a low tax jurisdiction open to increased investment dollars across all growth drivers from at home and abroad

  19. TOGETHER we will educate our sons and daughters to become successful global citizens capable of competing and winning in the varied disciplines of global enterprise for self and country
