  1. Dulal Chandra Bhar Making The World Sweeter & Healthier

  2. The Origin In the midst of World War II, a company emerged that was determined to find an alternative to white sugar without the need for additives. Dulal Chandra Bhar saw the quality of the ‘saada mishri’ and the market demand for the product. He judged the gap in the market and produced tal mishri with the sap he collected from the palm trees in his ancestral home at Rajbalhat in the Hooghly district in West Bengal, India. The visionary found his raw material and then registered the land under the company’s name, which is the same as his own. The company started a full-fledged business in 1937 and has continued to grow since then. They never had to spend on advertising their product. Just like the magical way of the older days, it spread through word of mouth and is still a prominent household name for the people of West Bengal

  3. Why You Should Substitute Palm Candy For Sugar? Palm candy is a natural sweetener that is made by evaporating the water content from palm sap and then crystallizing it. White sugar can raise blood pressure and lead to chronic inflammation. This increases the risk of heart disease. High-quality palm candy has a low glycemic index (GI) of 35, which is lower than white sugar (65). The glycemic index measures the rate at which a food raises the blood sugar. Palm candy is low in calories and contains nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B12, amino acids, etc. It is also a natural antioxidant and contains no additives. It is also ideal for people with diabetes who like to eat sweets and desserts.

  4. Recipes With Palm Candy • Palm candy, or tal mishri, is a good substitute for white sugar. We have compiled a list of recipes that use palm candy. They are given below: • Tal Mishrir Payesh: Rice is cooked with milk and palm candy till it is soft and then garnished with dry fruits and nuts. • Herbal Tea: Add palm candy to boiling water with peppercorns, cloves, and nigella seeds for an effective solution against cough and cold.

  5. Recipes With Palm Candy • Tal Mishrir Halwa: Make a simple halwa of semolina (suji halwa), then add palm candy instead of white sugar. • Cookies: This is a modern use of the traditional tal mishri, where the candy is ground and used instead of sugar. • Tal Mishrir Gulaab Jamun: Make gulaab jamuns the usual way and then soak them in spiced syrup made with palm candy, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom.

  6. The Future Of Dulal Chandra Bhar Just like every brand, Dulal Chandra Bhar’s Palm Candy is also going towards the digital route.
