Overall development ofregistrations • At the start of 2010 registrations and staff handling them will be transferred from district courts to the NLS • During 2008-2012 outdated land register component of the National Land Information System will be renewed • Cadastral component was renewed 2005, when cadastral information from the whole country was integrated into the system • Development of an electronic real estate purchasing system also starts in the near future NATIONAL LAND SURVEY OF FINLAND – DOWN TO EARTH

Effects on activities • The National Land Survey of Finland becomes a comprehensive actor in matters concerning real estate • the entire process within one organisation from real estate conveyance, registration of titles to mortgaging  process development • the cadastral and registration components of the national land information system in the same organisation  development of information systems • real estate matters within one organisation  client obtains all services from one place NATIONAL LAND SURVEY OF FINLAND – DOWN TO EARTH
