Alcohol Consumption and Related Issues in Brazil and the U.S.: A Comparative Analysis

This analysis examines alcohol consumption patterns in Brazil and the United States based on national surveys. The 2006 Brazil National Alcohol Consumption Survey (PNBA) involved 3,007 participants, while the U.S. National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol (NESARC) included 43,093 adults. It explores frequency of drinking, binge drinking prevalence, heavy drinking by gender and age, and patterns of alcohol abuse and dependence. Additionally, it addresses the link between alcohol consumption and incidents of intimate partner violence (IPV), highlighting the significant public health implications.
