The Gateway to Iraq „The Port of Umm Qasr“ Umm Qasr – General Overview The Port consists of two distinct areas: The old Port: Berths 1 -10 span around 2 km along the west Bank of the river = 12 warehouses in good condition, ttl around 61.000 sqm 2 gantry cranes several shore cranes The new Port= Berth 11 – 21 length around 2,2 km along the channel 23 warehouses in good condition, ttl around 110.000 sqm 2 gantry cranes 25 shore cranes The Port is running 7 days a week on 24 hours basis. The road connection is working and no major destruction has been Reported, the national road network allows transport to all places in Iraq. The rail transport is used on regular basis to transport containers to the northern part of the country. We are operating our own warehouse in the Port of Um Qasr.
