  29. Spring Hill Academy and Preschool

  30. Tomorrow’s MeetingReview/Discuss the LeaseSign the Lease in the Near Future • 5 Year Lease • 3,500 square feet for $4,000

  31. Proposal for SHAP Community Baptist Church authorizes Pastor Stalnaker and the trustees (Rachel Lilly, Dan Jones & Charles Britt) to enter into a lease agreement with the Spring Hill Academy and Preschool.

  32. Bids and Process of Selecting a Builder___________________Brent Bachman

  33. The Bid Process Received original bids.....all within 3.75% of each other. All of the bids were over the amount the bank will consider us for a loan.

  34. Overview of Bids Bidder 1: Baron & Dowdle $1,939,914 revised bid incorporated selective cost saving items, so final bid is $1,939,914.

  35. Overview of Bids Bidder 2: J. Cumby Construction Disqualified. Revised bid took liberty to change the size of the building to 9,000sf, which could not be compared equally against others that included the full scope.

  36. Overview of Bids Bidder 3: Romach, Inc. $1,947,000 Came down from original bid amount and suggested some scope reduction, provided no definitive cost savings options to reduce the bid further.

  37. Overview of Bids Bidder 4: Sherrick Construction $1,982,000 Did provide some cost savings ideas totaling roughly $126,000 and approximately $225,000 for CFC labor - for a final amount of $1,631,000.

  38. Overview of Bids Bidder 5: Paul Varney Construction $1,996,000 Offered approx. $330,000 in cost savings and $130,000 in CFC labor - for a final amount of $1,536,000.

  39. Why Paul Varney? • Our recommendation is to move forward with Paul Varney Construction: • He has been the most willing & proactive about researching and providing cost savings options. • As a result of item 1, he provides the lowest bid for our church

  40. Why Paul Varney? He is a Spring Hill Business and has shown good working relationships and connections to the local leaders. He is from Spring Hill and his reputation as a local establishment is on the line.

  41. Why Paul Varney? We make this recommendation with the understanding that we will move into a binding contract only after we have reached a scope and project cost that will be able to be funded by the bank. We will continue to solidify any unknown scopes and further define/verify cost savings opportunities.

  42. Paul Varney, Paul Varney Construction “We are very committed to the successful completion of the Community Baptist Church. We will use every resource available to insure that every dime possible is found in the budget and given to CBC. Just rest assure that if PVC is selected that CBC can confidently move forward knowing that you GC is working hard for you and will never relent in our commitment to your project.”

  43. Proposal for Builder The Building Committee proposes that Community Baptist Church authorizes Pastor Stalnaker and the trustees (Rachel Lilly, Dan Jones & Charles Britt) to enter into a contract to build a building that is approximately 11,400 square feet with Paul Varney Construction.
