State of healthcare report
What we do Annual health check – this is assessing and rating the NHS. It’s the most comprehensive picture yet of how the NHS is doing in relation to core standards, existing and new national targets and the patient experience of the system through our service reviews. We’re launching our new ratings website to the public on October 12th. It will contain a staggering 74,000 pieces of information about the NHS, which for patients will be presented in the form of a series of answers to questoins they commonly ask such as how long will I wait?
Independent sector regulation – we will be publishing the results of our inspections also in the form of answers to questions commonly asked by patients, later this autumn
Investigations into serious service failures such as at Stoke Mandeville, Northwick Park and Cornwall
Second stage complaints about the NHS
One offs, that is regimes such as the Hygiene Code and Controlled Drugs; and reviews such as those of Independent Sector Treatment centres and Foundation Trusts
Concordat- we lead co-ordination of – inspection / regulation in healthcare
