Party Conventions Three Objectives • Write and publicize the party platform DEMREP • Delegate speeches identify issues DEMREP • Who is saying it and when is more important than what is said • Democratic and Republican platforms are very similar. Why? • Nominate the candidates (roll call) • Unify the Party (Nominee Speech)
