  4. 2008 Monitoring Survey (2007 data) • Launched early January 2008. • To monitor the Paris Declaration in 56 self- selected countries • Deadline 31 March 2008 • First draft report July 2008 • Final report (+some country report) for the HLF-3

Roundtables: Key Dates • March 3 : HLF3 Steering Committee discusses draft Terms of Reference of each RT • March 12-13 : “cross cutting issues” workshop (Dublin+1) and meeting of RT co-chairs, London • March 15 : RT co-chairs submit full ToR and first outline of RTs; to be discussed and agreed at next WP-EFF (2-3 April) • May 15-16 : Capacity Building workshop to include representatives from all RTs, Bonn • April-May : consensus building, regional preparatory events

The preparation process (1) • WP-EFF: 2 plenary meetings before Accra, to pilot preparation work : • 2-3 April 2008 • 9-10 July 2008 • HLF-3 Steering Committee: frequent meetings to advise on the organisation and content of the forum • Consultations with CSOs: AG-CS regional, national and international meetings (3-6 Feb, Ottawa)

The preparation process (4) • UN - Strong links with SG’s Africa Initiative, MDG summit, DCF and Doha FfD Preparations. • UNSG’s Africa initiative: OECD and IMF work on predictability – a core issue for Accra • UNSG’s report (mid-May) - focus on aid quality. • UN ECOSOC-BWI meeting New York (15/16 April) - item on aid architecture and aid effectiveness • DCF : DAC chair to attend DCF (30 Jun/1 Jul) to discuss draft Accra Agenda for Action. • FfD outcome document (end July) to be informed by Accra Agenda for Action • DCF, UN MDG Summit (25 Sept), Doha (Dec) to reinforce HLF-3 messages

Accra Agenda for Action preparation timeline • 3 milestones in developing the AAA: • First Consultative Draft wasprepared by 18 March and will be discussed in a range of international for a • Revised Draft of the AAA will be prepared by 12 June, reflecting the comments on the first draft. • Final Draft, reflecting the comments made by the Working Party on the revised draft, will be released by 20 July for endorsement at the HLF-3.
