  1. International Partner Schools Project

  2. International Partner Schools Project As part of the new Scottish Government 1 + 2 Initiative, why don’t we create a bigger learning context for our schools in Scotland?

  3. International Partner Schools Project • Small is beautiful…. • We have less schools for the whole of Scotland than in Créteil alone! • Why don’t we connect them all to a school in Germany, Spain, France, Italy?

  4. International Partner Schools Project Piano ma sano… • Target: linking electronically Scottish Primary Schools to an equivalent institution in Germany, Spain, France and Italy • Starting with 5 per Local Authority? 10 or plus for interested Local Authorities? • Timeframe 2012 -2013

  5. International Partner Schools Project • Partners • Local Authorities • Cultural Organisations • SCILT LFEE can act as “international facilitators” for schools in Scotland wanting to link up with a school abroad

  6. International Partner Schools Project How? • Local Authorities to send info to schools between December and March 2013 • LFEE to centralise all enquiries

  7. International Partner Schools Project • Selection process: first come, first served. Schools can be put on a waiting list for 2013-2014

  8. International Partner Schools Project Cultural Organisations: • Can you help find interested schools in your respective country?

  9. International Partner Schools Project LFEE can help with: • Producing a template which will help schools link up with a European counterpart • Giving a document with ideas of possible exchanges/existing projects between schools • Showing how to use ICT to facilitate the exchanges between schools

  10. International Partner Schools Project • December to March: LAs to pass on information to schools within their authority • April to June 2013, find schools abroad • September 2013, start exchanging! • SCILT/LFEE to offer support (email, phone, CPDs?) to schools once the exchanges have started

  11. International Partner Schools Project • Medium term target (2014) • Link up more –all- Primary Schools to Europe • Find out which Secondary Schools don’t have links abroad and pair them up
