  2. We have A long tradition of excellence • In existence since the 1850s • Davis College, Toledo – 157 years • Bryant & Stratton, Cleveland – 155 years • Miami-Jacobs, Dayton – 151 years • National College, 7 locations • – est. 1886 to train railway clerks

We are Highly Regulated: • Licensed by the State of Ohio • Overseen by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools • Approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education • Board of Regents Certificate of Authorization Nationally and/or regionally accredited: • Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges • Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges • Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools • North Central Association • Distance Education and Training Council • Accrediting Council for Contributing Education and Training

Students We Serve • Women account for nearly 70 percent of career college enrollment • Minorities make up more than 32 percent of our enrollment, the highest percentage of all four sectors of higher education • 66 percent of our students are age 25 and older • We help veterans transition from war zones to the workplace; 26 percent of all veterans nationally choose career colleges and schools when they return to civilian life

Fulfilling Ohio’s Educational Vision Preparing for Ohio Jobs • Leading in almost every fast-growth job category • About 72% of career college graduates earned degrees in fields projected to be among Ohio’s fastest growing occupations • Our students represent: • 29 % of all graduates earning a computer/technology degree • 18 % of all graduates in the state earning a health-related degree

  10. We are • Investing in bricks-and mortars institutions in local communites • Investing in 21st century technology to connect students, teachers and potential employers • Investments are through private capital with no direct taxpayer subsidy

State Board of Career Colleges and Schools 2011 Annual Report We are Controlling the cost of Tuition • Between 2010-2014 career colleges posted a smaller increase in tuition than other colleges and universities in the state • Tuition rose by only 7.8% at career colleges vs. 10.4% across the board

  12. Legislative Scholarships • 30 Career Colleges and Schools offer more than 220 Legislative Scholarships to high school seniors • Candidates are nominated by members of the Ohio General Assembly • Value of more than $1M

  13. Creative Programs from Our Schools • Davis College, Toledo • Signature Scholar Award • Rewards dedicated students with their final quarter free of charge • ITT Technical Institute • $4.6M in Tuition Reduction to Ohio Students

  14. Ohio College Opportunity Grant • Provides tuition assistance to needy students • Vital to sustaining trained workforce and state’s economy • Reduces the amount that students need to borrow, thus lowering student debt • Necessary for the future of our students
