The student is expected to: • (A)  observe, measure, record, analyze, predict, and illustrate changes in size, mass, temperature, color, position, quantity, sound, and movement • (B)  identify, predict, and test uses of heat to cause change such as melting and evaporation • (2)  History. The student understands the concepts of time and chronology. The student is expected to: • (B)  use vocabulary related to chronology, including past, present, and future • (C)  create and interpret timelines • (2.10)  Measurement. The student uses standard tools to estimate and measure time and temperature (in degrees Fahrenheit). • (A)  read a thermometer to gather data • (2.11)  Probability and statistics. The student organizes data to make it useful for interpreting information. • (A)  construct picture graphs and bar-type graphs • (18)  Writing/writing processes. The student selects and uses writing processes for self-initiated and assigned writing. • (F)  demonstrate understanding of language use and spelling by bringing selected pieces frequently to final form and "publishing" them for audiences
