Method • Why use a diary study? • Considers the perspective of the system’s user. • User able to make note of possible improvements, which might otherwise be overlooked for forgotten. • Duration: One week. • Students were given a table to fill out to assure continuity. Focus Group • A focus group is a small group of people who meet together and provide answers plus opinions to some questions asked by a group leader. • The objective: to investigate the available student services and accessibility of MyAUP and aup.edu • The benefits: we will be able to use this information to re-create MyAUP so as to better suit the students’ needs at AUP. Results – Current Problems • The site should be a physical manifestation of student work • Links to sga, other webistes - SGA and student media should be more present • Classifieds should be more visible • Needs info about Paris, and AUP neighborhood online • 7th Arrondissement, Transportation: Link to ratp website • Faculty info not updated (New and visiting professors not there) • More control over personal record • Students want to see ALL info. regarding grades, GPA, etc. • AUP e-mail not used. Results – First Impressions of AUP from MyAUP vs. aup.edu • Aup.edu site was easy to navigate and had good connection with it • Better than other websites • Went on planet website and looked at archives before coming to AUP • Found aup on the Internet but felt like he had to come visit to find out what it was really like.
