  2. Accelerator Working Group Purpose • To identify, discuss and resolve common SC accelerator facility safety issues • To re-invigorate application of Accelerator Safety Order 420.2

  3. Accelerator Working Group Charter • Work Accelerator Safety Order implementation and oversight issues (e.g., SAD, ASE) • Provide Accelerator Safety Order and Guidance interpretations/updates • Facilitate networking among SC site offices (& labs) • Share lessons learned and best practices on accelerator safety-related issues • Provide a forum to benchmark accelerator safety oversight approaches (e.g., implementation and operational experiences, challenges, & struggles)

  4. Accelerator Working Group Structure • Concept is similar to the DOE Radiological Control Coordinating Committee (RCCC) • Functions as a sub-group to the SC ESH&Q Managers Group • Co-chaired by Field and HQ • Comprised of a federal Site Office representative from each site that operates an accelerator • Envision an adjunct, joint DOE-Contractor group
